Quick Response Plz - Blue Starfish Q

It looks like my star lost the lining in his legs, the things with his tubes in it, but his legs still appear to have the tubes, so I don't know what it is. He is still moving around, his body looks flatter then normal though. Is this the 1st stages of him dying?

Someone has to have had a blue star before, I need to know if I should take him out tonight or leave him.

I had one but my LFS failed to tell me it had to be acclimated for around 24hrs.
Since then I read somewhere that you had to do this!!!
After about 2 days it just stopped moving and then fell apart!!!
Thats my experience with the blue linckia star
How long have you had yours?

I first noticed 1 leg was real skinny and the end was coming off.
Then the next morning the bristleworms were on it!
It had not moved so I took it out!!
Did you acclimate it a long time?

He was acclimated for atleast 2 hours. This is strange it looks like these beige colored bands are coming out of his stomach, the seem to have tubes, but not the clear ones like you see underneath the starfish. Could this be anything else but him falling apart and dying?

I got very lucky with my blue linkia. The guy at the LFS told me they were very hardy and acclimate just like a fish. I acclimated him for about an hour and he hid for like two weeks. I thought killed him after reading posts on here. That was 5 months ago. He's all over the place now after the lights go out. Sometimes you can see him out during the day and he is beautiful. Next to my flame angel he is my favorite tank resident. Just give it time. Mine didn't move a millimeter for two weeks.

well, Ramey you may be lucky now (I hope she stays as long as possible) BUT its just a fact that those blue linckia are extremely difficult to sustain for long periods. if they don’t die from acclimation then they will die usually in a few months from some strange parasitic (I guess) or other disease.
Take care.

I'd say the exact opposite of marek. The blue linkia are a hardy species once acclimated. The acclimation period takes time and patience but once that's done the blue linkia is hardy.
