Quiet One 4000....not so Quiet!!!

I have this Quiet One 4000 on my closed loop and can't seem to get the thing to be quiet! It has a very annoying rattle to it. I checked all the fittings and checked the impeller, ceramic, and all other internals and everything appears to be fine. Even pushed, pulled, twisted, hammered, etc., etc., etc. - No Luck!
It sounds like it is cavitating but I can't find any source of air leaks or any debris stuck on the shaft or impeller.
Any ideas from you fellow Quiet One users?
It is external with a 1.5 foot head. The intake is 1 inch PVC and the discharge is 3/4 inch to 3 openings to the tank.
Thanks, this thing is driving me nuts!!!

i have the exact same one...and the exact same problem came up first i added a foam pad thing...like one that would be in a cpr overflow....i stuck that under there and that made her a little quiet and so i took the thing apart and found nothing but once i was done and put it back together there was no rattle and every thing was fine

I have 2 of those pumps and have 1 running externally and the other is internal. I don't seem to have any noise problems with either of them. Make sure all of your connections are tight and that its not rattleing on the tank itself from the return lines.

Thanks Jason, The rattling has stopped but I still have the humming sound. May be that the plumbing is agaisnt the canopy.
When you plumbed your external did you go hard pipe all the way or use flexible tubing?

Cool.... same here.... guess it has to be how the piping is set against the canopy. I'll have to reposition the plumbing a bit..
Thanks again,
