Quiet one pumps $$ and design

The lowest that I have seen these pumps for are $100 at petsolutions.com. Has anyone seen them for a cheaper price. Thanks.

I didn't know that there were two types a vertical and horizontal. The vertical was around 950 gph and 1100 for the horizontal. Looking at them they look the same. Can someone explain the difference so I can pick the right one for myself. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the horizontal and vertical. Not sure what would be best for me. Thanks for the other returns.

This simply refers to the direction that the outlet is pointing. The vertical points UP.The horisontal is "horizontal" to the floor. In most applications the vertical is best.I wish mine was vertical....This is a VERRRRRRY good pump. You will be very pleased with it's performance.Mine has been running 24/7 for more than two years now.And has even run dry twice. This would surly have fried most competors pumps, but after unplugging it and cooling down,it starts right back up each time...And still runs TOTALLY QUIET.

Thank you. I'm actually going to construct a sump something like yours. I also have a magnum canister filter. Do you have any sketches of your sump. Matt

:) i'm happy w/ my quiet ones. one pushes the current and the other pumps the inline refrig unit. running 24/7 for about 3 years or more on a 125 tank. don't remember the exact cost, but i think it was about $100/each.

mr. salty. i've unbolted the directional heads from horizontal and made them into "verticals". no leakage yet. these are the brown ones. the new ones in the ads are blue tone.
