could someone recommend a quiet pump. i have an aquac remora hang-on protien skimmer with the rio 800. i also have the prefilter box. the tank is in my office and the rio 800 is just way too loud. i need something that is as close to silent as possible.

As nasty as their reputation is, the Rio pump probably isn't the noise culprit. The method of mixing air with water in the skimmer can be noisy on the Remora skimmers. If it is indeed the pump, a Maxijet 1200 would be a good alternative.
