Hello everyone,
My blue tang and two clownfishes have been in QT with proper cuppramine dosage for 45 days but still show sign of ick on blue tang.
Searched the net, someone ran into same situation but had successfully eliminated ick when switch to quinine sulfate.
Please help, I really don't know what to do next
Thanks.

The symton is white dot on tang. Not too many but a few on and off. The two clownfishes are ok.
I am not really familiar with hyposalinity.
Thanks

Can you tell if those are raised? Do they come and go? Always in the same place?

Yes they are raised, same place for last two week, only on one side of the fish
here is my time schedule:
10/01: fishes in Qt start treatment
10/15: no sign of ick, start removing copper
End of Oct: ick reappear, start raising copper level
11/10: Copper level stable at no less than 0.5 with saifer test kit until now.
Should I wait for one more week then switch to Quinine sulfate?
I also just raised temp from 76-78F to 80-82F last Friday.

Thank you Beth,
I will have until tomorrow to decide hyposalinity or quinine sulfate.
Thanks again

Chloriquine is rather hard on your biofilter, and you have already subjected your system to copper. So, take care of its use.

Here is my plan:
01/04: ******-pro arrived
01/05: 50% water change and add carbon to filter bring copper level down to no more than 0.25
01/06: Start treatment with quinine sulfate. 0.12 grams per 10 gallons with 25% water change each day for 7 days. No light, no filter, feed only once a day during treatment
Will post results, good or bad, end of next week
Nothing sadder than looking at a beautiful but empty fish tank

Day 4th into QS treatment, more sign of ick on blue tang than before. Oh my goodness, I should be ready to start hypo this weekend.
It broke my heart to see my fishes this way. I may consider keeping my tank corral and inverts only

Celebration time:
After 7 days in QS treatment all signs of ick were gone. No more slim coat on blue tang. She got back her deep beautiful blue and strong...no more tire, sick looking....
fish pharmacy advices max treatment is 10 days, people on the net said 13 days. I will continue treatment until end of 13rd day and move them back to DT after a FW dip.
Thank you everyone for replying my post.
Regards
Kiet
