qurantine ???

im makin a qurantine tank..
when i get fish, how long do i leave it in there? do i add any medicine in there?
what do i do?:thinking:

just leave them in for a week and a half to see if eating and any signs of illness........i personally don't use one cause i can control ick outbreacks within the main display within a few days the fish seem to adapt to my water and they recover within a day...(i have had one fish shipped to me on my new tank with ick and recovered in 24 hours)

I think most people would recommend 2-3wks in QT.
I don't have a QT for 2 reasons
1) I live in a co-op and have not space for it
2) I'm don't plan on adding more fish

Sticky thread from the disease and treatment forum, that should answer most of your questions or concerns. If you have any other questions I suggest going to the D&T forum for the gurus (Beth and Terry) to help --it's a bit slower, but the best place to be for QT questions. HTH
