If you have a lot of rock work, he may be laying low. If there are any open spots at the top of your tank, he may have also escaped from the tank. Check carefully around the tank on the floor, even under any nearby furniture. If you have an overflow, look in there or in the sump. You can move some of the rock around to see if he's hiding.

Yeah...they're slippery little suckers. To curious for their own good too. I'd just start pulling rock and searching like nicetry said. :happyfish

If he is hiding, I'm under the impression it takes weeks if not months for them to starve. So wouldn't worry about that issue (correct me if I'm wrong though).

My friend has a 5 ft green morray that was in his store and it jumped out of the tank in the middle of the night had enough time to dry up and the floor dry up as well and he still lived
Another friend had a snowflake that he went out of town for a few days he had a major malfunction with his tank and his heater shorted out and all his fish died except the trooper snowflake
If you have a nice size tank he is probably just found a nice hideing place and just gets food that comes to him I have an engineer goby that never comes out but he is huge and has a great hideing place. If i were you i would give the tank about 4 hours after the lights go out and go in with a flash light and take a look

make a new thread, but for future reference volitans need 125 minimal and blackfoots have very dismal survival rates
