R/O equipment

I was wondering if it was possible to make a DIY R/O unit. If not, does anyone sell one cheaper than the LFS, or the online retailers?

Search for them on E-bay. There is a person/company that sells a nice RO/DI unit for $135 (new). Best price I've seen for the quality.

I got mine on ----, new, 5 stage RO, and they included a bypass valve and a DI unit. This all has a storage tank as well. So I can use the RO water for drinking, then flip the bypass valve and get RO/DI water for fish. Also, cam with a flush kit to make the RO membrane last longer. Other systems, like Kent, the Storage tank, faucet dispenser, and flush kit you have to pay extra for each. The entire thing was only $165, and the water is ultra pure quality. It came with a TDS meter too, just to prove the quality. Some people on here say "Not all RO is equal". While that may be true with different micron filtering, my unit was 1 micron, which is the lowest you can get from RO. Don't beleive the Name Brand hype.
