R/O Question

I got my R/O unit today and the instructions are about 3 sentences long and I have a few questions. #1, how fast do I turn on the cold water? #2, Is the dirty water supposed to look dirty (ie, discolored, thick, etc).
The pure water line (blue) is draining at a drip and has a yellow hue. The black line is the waste water and it's pouring out and clear.
BTW this came put together so I didn't mess up the color of the lines.

What manufacturer/make do you have?
I have a coralife pure-flo II and my house PSI is around 50psi, but if I put the water on full blast the unit 'hisses'. I turn the faucet until it hisses then I back off a bit.
As for the dirty water...mine was a bit dirty for about the first 5 gallons or so. With a new RO unit you should throw out the first 10 gallons of pure since the new membrane typically has a preservative on it.

I can't name the brand because it's a fish equipment competitor. Does your R/O unit put out about twice as much waste water as pure water? My black line is coming out fast and the blue is trickling.
