R/O Water....Drinking Water...

Ok, for those of you, like me, that can't afford or doesn't want to afford their own R/O system, I found an answer. Find a drinking water store and see how they clean the water.
I was going to get R/O for my everyday use before I found out how much water they waste. Some units waste as much as 4 gallons of water to make one clean  Anyway, I was going to use my undersink filter but I'm not sure it removes all the bad stuff.
Anyway, I went to a drinking water place by my house. I was buying RO/DI water from LFS for $0.35 a gallon. Now, this drinking water place has it for $0.20 a gallon inside or $0.25 a gallon if you use the 24 hour dispenser outside. I went in there Saturday and low and behold, they have the best purifier I've ever seen. ALL stainless steel piping. Here's the process (although I can't remember it 100% :) )
1. carbon filtration.
2. r/o filtration
3. di
4. r/o (smaller micron)
5. uv sterilizer
6. carbon filtration
Sheesh, everything you would want for $0.20 a gallon :D <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" /> . You guys outta check out your local drinking water stores.

I see DI is involved.
There is much deabte about drinking de-ionized water. Some say nay so say ok
RO is one thing but DI removes all electrolytes(ions) that your body needs.
My take on the whole thing is that if
your diet is so poor that you depend on water for you electrolytes, then you are in trouble anyway.
Are you sure you saw de-ionizing?
Ususally thats the last step after water has paseed over the RO membrane.

I think the point of the post was to use the water for the fish tank...not to drink. I buy my water from a similar place and have had good luck with it. Wish I could get it for .20 a g though.
