Anyone run these? Mr. Salty maybe? If so, have you found them to be an additional heat source even though they are an external pump? Do you use one to run your skimmer, or are they just for returns and circulation?

i've got two l/g pumps on my 125 tank. yes they are an additional heat source (like any pump). one is for circulation through a chiller, and the other is returned to circulation through l/g u.v. and heating units. it also goes through fluidized bed filter that blew out all of the substrate because i could never get it adjusted right.

How do they do if you restrict them a bit with a gate or ball valve? Did it require a lot of extra fiddling to get the temp back to normal range? I plan on using three of these for my new set up one for the skimmer and 2 returns, the 1140gph model. Are they as quiet as they say?
