some one told me that a rainford goby was a very good way to get rid of my hair algae. has anyone had any experience with these fish? will they eat it? my yellow tang won't touch it neither will my blue tang. my po4 is .02 ppm so that shouldn't be the problem but nothing is controling it for me. I need HELP! :joy: :)
Thanks,
Dave

The book "Marine Fishes" by S.W. Michael suggests ..."Will typically do best with some fillimentous algae and live rock"... So, yes.
However, as the fish eats, the algae production must keep pace, or the fish will eat itself out of a home, and starve.

Kind of deceptive. Its not so much they eat hair algae but they eat the microscopic critters and pods that live on it. If you are looking to remove hair algae look somewhere else, these guys are not the answer. Your best bet is to figure out why you have algae in the first place rather than treating the symptoms.
