Raising copods??

I just bought a bottle of tiger pods for my sea horses, I hear they are easy to raise. Would like to hear from some people that raise them and could give me some ideas of how they have there's set up.

I converted the pod info into a word document if you want...poor rykna had to contend with like 5 pms from me to get the whole thing. (Sorry Rykna!) If you want the word file, just PM me your address and I'll email it. I've never raised Tiggers, but I expect the breeding info would be the same. In fact, culturing them the way I did the reefpods might make tiggers more temperature-compatible. Hmmmm..... I smell a new experiment!!

Suuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrre....email it to ameno
jk I'd love to raise tiggers, the LFS charges an arm and a leg for a bottle of them.
A new experiment...I hope it smells better than my brine shrimp hatchery!!!

Well I didn't see anyone post a reply for a few days so I haven't checked this thread in awhile. I did get in some tigers and went by what info I could find on them, which was that they were easy to raise and just feed them some phytho and give them some light and they would do fine.
I did that in a container and they died in less then a week.

I think they need cooler temp. they can live in the frig. for a long time, but at that temp. they are dorment.
My LFS has figured out how to raise brine shrimp and has tried to set me up to raise them but so far not any luck there either.
I am down to one sea horse and he will not eat anything so far except pods.
even though he is in the fuge with about 5 gal. of cheato and the whole system has around 200 lbs. of live rock, I think he gets just enough to survive.
I buy some of the live brine from the LFS to feed him but I need to figure out how to raise something for him to eat without going to the LFS. Once I figure out something I want to get him a mate, but not until then.

Did you add an air source to the pod tank? They need phytoplnkton (live), light, and circulation via an airstone. They also need to have their rearing tank siphoned gently once a week to remove dead pods and detritus from the bottom of the container, and fresh saltwater added. When I did mine, I used reefpods, not tiggers. I have heard about similar problems with tigger pods, but so far I haven't had the chance to see for myself. The reefpods bred like crazy (Pods Gone Wild!) so you may want to consider trying those....and unless I'm mistaken, you can order your started culture from this very site!
I don't remember, did you PM me your email address?

no I did not use an air stone, and not live phythoplankton, no air stone is probably what did them in. The reef pods may be a better choice, I may try that. I didn't pm you my email address, but I will. I could use any advise on how to keep them that you are will to share.
Thanks
