Just a thought, and I might be totally rediculous for thinking this, but has anyone ever tried setting up a colder SWF tank? Something along the lines of the western US, from about central CA north. I know that this type defintely wouldnt be as colorful as a tropical SW tank, but just curious if anyone has attempted it or if anyone has any opinions.

I've never personally had a tank like this, but know a few people who have set up such tanks to feature Catalina gobies.

Do a search on puget sound. I remember someone having a coldwater system with anenome's, coldwater fish species, etc. I think it was on this message board but not sure.
