So I just wanted to share a couple of the better images I got from shooting my tank today. Just throwing them out there to share.

Thanks for taking a peek
.

First let me thank you for the kind words. I am still learning the Camera (Nikon D80) and found a really neat feature that helps out with camera shake for those upclose and personal shots
(Exposure Delay is your friend
).
Secondly to answer your question Spyder, it's actually an old Vivitar 100mm macro lens I got off the bay for $150. I have gotten similar results with a Tamron 28-300mm, but I am still toying around. With the Vivitar I can get closer since it has a closer focusing distance.

Well I can tell you the parent was actually a green striped mushroom (or it looked EXACTLY like a green striped mushroom
) I got for free. One day it up and detached, and I could never find it again. A couple days later there was a little bud growing there. And that's what came out from it. About all I can tell you really. I have never really seen anything much like it since.

Not bad for $150!!! A friend of mine just got the D80 and loves it. I have the D50, so I am certainly jealous of all of the features you have on your camera.

Very nice shots........ Makes me want to re-think the 450 bucks the new Macro for my Canon is going to cost me..............

Heh, I know the pain of looking for a good macro lens. The 60mm Nikon I was looking at would cost me $560 or so retail, and about $450 off the bay. I am still looking for a better one, but this will suffice for now
. Who knows, maybe you can find a less expensive early 90's AF lens like the Vivitar I got. I am not to familiar with who all made Cannon compatible lenses though....or I might make a suggestion.

try out the canon ix 10 is. if you dont want to spend the price of a dslr, but want the features. It can do amazing macro shots, 20x optical zoom, and a bunch of other amazing features.

Now that I am learning how it works I love the D80. At first I was frustrated because nothing I really shot turned out. But now, things are deffinately on the up and up
