Yesterday i picked up some raw squid tubes from the seafood market (the top part of the squid). the owner told me i could have it for free!!!!! He gave me $25 worth for free! I told him all about my tank and stuff, so if anyone lives around branson i HIGHLY reccomend that place. Anyways to my question..... are squid tubes healthy for my fish? Is it very nutritional?

They are OK as "PART" of a balanced meal...
I get the frozen calamari from the grocer all the time, but that comes with the tenticles as well, cut it up into appropriately sized peices and feed..
I also get Shrimp..raw, unpeeled, legs and shell on, ("green" guts in, when available) and chop that up, as well as chunks of Cod, Talipia, and Haddock...Scallops are good too
I get probably 80-90% of my aggressive food from the grocer...
Just don't feed "one thing" day after day, week after week... mix two or three varities up (of 6 or so available) and keep varying the mix ratio...
I still get frozen whole cockel in the shell and Krill from the LFS...and don't forget the vitiamns and amino acid supplements (selcon, Zoe , multi-vit etc...)

I have started feeding my fish cleaned squidd tubes and tenticals . I have also made up some frozzen food . I put some squid , raw shrimp and a few sheets of sea weed in a blinder and added some garlic . mixed it to a paste and then froze it in zip lock bags . when it's feeding time just break off a chunk and toss it in and the fish go crazy . this stuff melts in about 30 seconds and the fish love it the bigger fish tear off pieces and swim away and the smaller fish folow it around the curents and pick at it untill its gone . Even the shrimp will come out of the rock work to go after the frozen mix . I still feed other things such as flakes and muscles and this week I'm going to get some silver sides to try feeding them since everybody is getting big enough.
