New 220 tank is getting better but no where near where I want it.. course thats the fun in this hobby :)

What type of ligghts you running there. I also really like your Bubble coral. and what size tank is it?? Thanx and again, looks great!! Todd

i've noticed you used some type of pebble or crushed coral for the bottom. why not use live sand?

I use to be a huge advocate of DSB's until I had mine crash. It got to the point where my PO4 levels were out of control and I was spending tons of money on PO4 sponges to keep them low enough my coral was not suffering. I vowed when I changed to this new 220 gal tank that I was going back to CC. Ive always had good luck with CC as it helps maintain my Ca levels. I also like the fact that I can deep suction the substrait once a month to help keep PO4 buildup minimal.
Its just my personal preference.

That is a dual ballast 2x400w MH 10k
I also have an assortment of PC lights running actinic 65w bulbs for that cosmetic purple look.
