RBTA and upgrading tank question...

I keep reading that a RBTA should be introduced to a mature tank of at least 6 months old. I am upgrading from a 29G to a 75G... does this mean I have to keep both tanks running until the 75G matures? Any suggestions on how to do this transition properly would be greatly appreciated!

I would it is not worth loosing anything that might be getting established in the smaller tank. If you can use some of the water and sand from the smaller tank. It will help get the 75 gal up and cycling faster.
