My tank finally finished cycling. I'm done buying live rock. I bought some power compact lighting. My tank is ready to roll. The crabs in my tank appear to be as happy about it all as I am... I just wanted to show off a pic of my FIRST attempt at a SALTWATER TANK.

You could start off with a pair of percula clowns. Then if you are getting a reef tank, you can get a cleaner shrimp or two.

Thank God I can get clowns now! I thought my girlfriend was going to chew my ear off until I got a pair! Personally, I live the inverts as much or more than the fish...
I really like the serpent stars and brittle stars. How long should I wait to get one of these? I want the tank to eventually be a reef set up... My tank is only a month along - is this long enough to have a starfish?

I would wait on the stars the need a very stable system and could die quickly if it isnt gave to them.
what are your test readings?
if they have all zeroed out have you done the intial water change? if not this is the time to do that to readd trace elements and help stablizeing the PH and other things.
if youve done the rest and readings are 0 then yeah you are ready for clowns. but as a side note do you have a QT? if not I would get one setup it one takes one fish that has ich to wipe out an intire tank..
FWIW
