Bought these two as a breeding pair about a year ago. They have grown pretty significantly and the female has become insanely mean. I was wondering how common his coloring was. I've never seen one SO bright yellow/orange. My female is a solid orange like most "normal" clowns. Also, why did she suddenly become so mean? Lol she attacks the hell out of the glass anytime something even glances at her.
(sorry for the horrible photos haha clowns are super difficult)

I have a pair Od OScellarus that spawn regularly for me, every 15 days, I am raising some of their fry. The female is always dominant over the male, just being clownfish. I have a second younger pair that are very active and the female is dominant over the male. These are getting ready to spawn from what I can see, cleaning of a spawning site, tail dancing etc etc. As far as color my CF get mysis, cyclops eze, ocational brine shrimp, and ocassional flake. They are very dark in color almost a mocha color. Sounds like yours should be spawning soon, types of food has a lot to do with their color and how comfortable they are in the tank.

They go through super cleaning phases often, just never seen them actually spawn. They like to "clean" aka make a huge mess out of the whole tank but I think their baby making spot is behind some rocks where I cannot see anything so who knows. Mine get a regular diet of flake or mysis, and once every other week they get pieces of fresh squid. The male seems happy, well as happy as the female will let him be haha.

The eggs are orange when they are first layed. Try putting a piece of slate in the area you think they are spawning. They like a clean slate, no pun intended. Boil the slate first.

If they did lay eggs one of the two will never leave the area for long, they are continually cleaninf and fanning the eggs.

I have a yellow clown. He's the biggest I've seen. He's more then twice the size of my other two clowns. He's probably a different type. He has nostrils and normal clowns don't.
