Rebel XT ?

Looking for a good camera & lens. I found a Canon EOS Rebel XT 8 mp Digital SLR w/ 18-55mm lens for $650. Are they good? Know I need another lens, any sugestions?

I have the xt... I love it... here's a pic with the lens that comes with it from canon...

its a good camera. the kit lens that comes with it is ehhhhh...its at its best sharpness at around f8
here is a pic I took ALONG time ago with the kit lens.

HAHAHAHA wow looking back at my first pics taken to now..LOL they SUCKED..anyway to judge what the kit lens does anyway. You will end up buying different lens anyway. Its the camera you are paying for which is a good camera

I have the same camera and love it! still messing with the settings but its definately a good camera. I would be willing to bet you could find a better price than that also.
This was with one of the preset options before i started playing with manual settings

although if you can.i would get a used 20D or if you can swing it a used 30D..when i upgraded to my 30D last year it was like night and day. The bigger body and the better build is just soo much nicer and easier to hold.

Someone had writen about some sites that sold cameras at a good price but I don't know where I wrote them down. Anybody know of any good sites?

its actually released and starts shipping on Sept 21st
Thats a BIT more expensive then the XT the body is $1299
I will def be upgrading my 30D to the 40D just for the new advanced focus system, 14bit, 6.5fps, and live view
