We have several Plug 'n' Play (PnP) setups of various kinds, and the tanks I like the least are the JBJ NC28's (we have two of them).
The "bowfront effect" is the worst on these setups, and to be honest, we don't use the front panes for viewing or photos due to the distortion from the curve of the glass. The lid props are cheap and often break. The stock pumps run warm, and IMHO, should be replaced with more efficient pumps (lower power draw). The pumps are also a bit noisy, as are the fans in the hood. The LED lights are OK...plenty bright, even on the lower wattage model. The included flow alternator works fine, but needs to be reset after a power outage, as when the power is restored, they stop alternating and run both pumps "on" which tends to run the little sump in the back "dry", so you get bubble noise. Bottom line is I've done a lot of modding/upgrading to get these tanks up to snuff.
I'd go with the BC29...the BC24's are pretty nice (have one), so I have to assume that with all of the "issues" on our JBJ 28's, they HAVE to be better.
