Which do you recommend and why?
If you have another for me to look into let me know.
I am trying to stay around $600 for the skimmer.
I will have a heavy BioLoad due to large fish.
Will be in a sump under the stand so cant be to tall either.

Impossible. Not within those budget & height limits while trying to manage that type of load, without going used. I'd say a used Bubble King 250. For a kinda heavy stocked 330gal, should be enough, but for a heavily stocked 450gal, I'd move up to the BK 300.

I would recommend the MSX 300 for that size tank. It is about the only skimmer that will fit the bill as far as budget and size requirements go.

Well the height requirement would have to be less than 36" tall as that is what the height of the stand will be.

Agree with that budget your limited........the Deltec is a good choice, but the price
......I see missing from your list is the Reeflo skimmer which should honestly make your list.....I'd knock the ASM off the list though......The G-6 won't give you honestly what your looking to pull and the height is also a factor.....

The only skimmer i think thats going to work with that budget is the Octopus TDNW-300 Recirculating Skimmer its around $700 and rated for 800gallons 32" tall.
Plus if need be its a recirculating so it doesn't have to sit in sump.

Well I am going to go with the ASM G4xx series rated for 450gallons for $430 and save to get me a XL Large Cone Skimmer down the road after the tank is built into the wall instead of on the stand where it will be for the first yr or so of it being up and running. Once we do all of the remodeling for our house it will be in the wall and I will have a large closet that I will use for the equipment and all and at that time I will go alot larger of a skimmer and also it will be able to be out of the stand area so it can be taller which is what I hear is better.
Thanks Everyone for the help.

Dosent anyone think deltec's are a bit of a rip off seeing that they are probly the most over priced of all the skimmers?

Nope.
IMO they are not overpriced. They are a premium product with premium performance. If you look at one up close, the build quality is unreal, and they perform like no other skimmer I've ever seen.

How's the ASM G4xx working out? I'm seriously considering it for my new 240g and I was hoping to get your feedback. I have an ASM G3 on my 75g and I love it.

SCSInet, let me throw a scenario at you.....
For a 240g, if you had to choose between a brand new ASM G4xx (with a Sedra 15000 pump) for $420 and a used, 2-yr-old Deltec AP701 for $800 (great condition; local reef-club moderator is selling it and he has a good reputation), which would you choose? The guy selling the Deltec won't go any lower.

Honestly I'm not very versed wtih the ASM skimmers.
I run a Deltec on my big reef, and I'm extremely happy with it. The price is a tough one to swallow, but if you have the money, go for it. The $800 is probably a pretty good deal... I think the 701 goes for like $1200 or so new. If the skimmer has been well maintained, the age shouldn't be a big factor...

If you are gonna spend $800, I would take a look at the MSX 2S cone skimmer....brand new it is $719. If I had the cash I would definitley have one,,,,they are amazing to see in action.
