Please help,
Over the past week, my tank has started to be covered in red algae. I have a 55 FO, 1/2" cc bed. Amonia, nitrites are zero and nitrates are 10. PH is around 8.2.
I have 3 damsels, small sailfin tang, coral beauty, coral banded shrimp, hermits and snails.
What is generally the cause of red algae? What can I do? I is growing at 10-20% per day.

Algae,of any kind,is caused by three things. Two of wich are associated with POOR WATER. Phosphates, and nitrates are main contributors. Also poor lighting and or lights that are left on too long per day.
