red algea everywhere

i have red algea spreading throughout my tank what is causing this to spread is it good or bad is it something that i have to get to get rid of it.

i do to.... i had my powerhead setup wrong.. and i was overfeeding.....

Double check all of your parameters....temperature, sp. gr. etc. Cyano usually comes from lack of water movement and/or overfeeding. Siphon it out as best you can.
