i found his outer shell floating should i leave it in tank or take it out

My guess your shrimp molted. If I can get at the shell easily I take it out, if not no biggie. Its your call, some take it out some don't

Personally, I allways leave mine in. They end up disappearing anyway. Not sure if the shrimps, snails, hermits, eat them....but they usually only last a day or two.
