red coris wrasse

Ive had a red coris wrasse for 3 months, he has always come out around 10am and gone under the sand when the lights go off. On thursday I was cleaning my glass, I moved the bottom sand a bit and scrubbed really hard to get some stubborn algae off, when I finished I realized that my coris wrasse wasn't out (he normally sleeps under the glass). Its now Sunday and he hasnt been seen since Wednesday night, its very unusual for him he is always out daily. I moved some sand today to see If he was dead but couldnt find him. I have an open lid but cant see him anywhere (incase he jumped). I read that they may be hiding for a few days if they are scared.. my parameters are good. anyone have a red coris wrasse whos hid for 4days+?

I know people that have had them hide for days. Having an open lid is a huge risk though. Do you have any pets that may have eaten it if it jumped?

theres a 10cm black "border" on top of my tank on all sides (it used to be a all in one built in tank but i took the lid off for better lights)
so it has no lids but it has 10cm side above water level

That won't stop a wrasse.
My mystery wrasse just got out of my 180. I have a canopy, and he found the tiniest of crevices to jump through and go tile surfing. You'd be surprised what they can get through. Meowzer has had some go through her egg crate. I had a small fairy wrasse jump through netting about a year ago and land in my Christmas tree set up next to the tank, didn't find him for days.
Hopefully yours is just hiding.

lol. i had a similar situation happen with my first freshwater tank. had a few Sword tails and the female decided to try and jump out. she actually went UP into the filter and landed in the back of it!
but, with saltwater, every firefish goby i have had has jumped out. always when i wasn't home. so, no more FFG's for me, even though i have a thick glass lid now.
