Red Emerald Crab ?

Went to the LFS for my weekly look about and seen he had gotten a shipment of emerald crabs in and one looked like it had been cooked. It was all red/reddish brown. He said he thought it was an emerald since it came with them, but was not sure. I inspected it closely and it certainly looks just like an emerald and since it only had one claw I bought him. He has settled in nicely with the other 4 I have. Anybody else ever seen this?

I think they are called Mithrax crabs, or Strawberry crabs

had one as a hitcher for a few months till it broke skin. i banished it to the sump where it lived another year
