im starting to have problems with red hair algea. what is the main cause of it?

"Red hair algae" is most likely not true hair algae. Ic could either be cyanobacteria, which will sometimes look hairy and filamentous, or (more likely) red turf algae. I think we're going to need a pic.
If it's turf algae, I have more than a little to say about this PIA stuff. But I'll wait for the pics before I go telling you my war stories.
