not totally brand new but never empty the cup.so if no anything about skimmers it wasn't running long enough to build up 1 cup full of waste SKIMMER.couldn't get to work with my set up going differnt route.read the the reviews decent for the money.I live in cape may nj if you want to pick up or want it it shipped let me know trades are welcome other wise i take $125 plus shipping
