I just got a used one from my brother last night.
He's used it for the last 6mos, he picked it up used as well.
Had it on a 55G, then a 20G. Its on my 20G now.
It seems to do a pretty good job.
Never had a problem with it, or anything. Its just really touchy. It take a while to set it up just right.

I had one on my 55g for about 9 months (tearing that tank down) and didn't really have issues with it, but I also didn't get a lot of skimmate. You do really need to mess with the dial a bit to get the right amount without getting a ton of microbubbles. I didn't have a sump on the 55g either, but if you have a sump on your tank, get an in-sump skimmer, you'll be happy to you did.

It's a so-so skimmer which I have on my daughter's 29 gallon reef. It is not as efficient as my Turbofloater T1000 which I have on my 90 gallon reef but it's ok for smaller tanks. I definately would not put it on anything larger than like my daughter's 29 gallon reef. It is just OK and has not lived up to my expectations, as far as, efficiency!!! I am seriously thinking of getting rid of it and get a new one for the small reef. :)

I just got the exact same skimmer. When you say you have to adjust the dial to the right amount, how do you mean? How do you know when it is efficiently doing its job within just the turn of a dial?

Basically you want the bubbles to be around the O-ring for a regular skim. You can adjust the dial to get it to that point; any higher and you'll have a wet skim and tons of micro-bubbles, any lower and you'll barely get anything. The thing is, it'll barely skim anything anyway, it's not a great skimmer... it's "ok".
