Red slime algea

I'm working on getting a set up from someone and they have this in their sand.They offered to take the sand out and clean it but i need the good bacteria.Is their a way i can kill it?I want to get it but need to know whether i should worry or not?

you can first try using RO/DI with a TDS reading of 0, more flow around the tank, not overfeeding.. you can also try buying a filter media like phosban to help remove phosphates, also setting up a refugium with chaeto to help
also manually removing it
