red slime algea

here is the deal. I have blue green algea spreading like wild fire all over my tank. I was told this is also red slime algea. I have done 3 treatments of chemi clean medicine but to know avail. It keeps spreading. I used it and took out my carbon and shut off my protien skimmer. Is it possible this is not what i think it is? Help befroe it kills off more of my coral.

try to limmit the light for a while 3-4 hrs for a while or get some blue legged hermit crabs or a lawnmower blenny
