red slime algee?

hey,
just two days ago i dealt with my red slime algea. it spreads rapidly and covers everything. i put in RED SLIME ALGEA REMOVER. not even kidding, in 8 hours it was gone with no harm done to my corals fosh or inverts. follow the directions and after its gone do a 30 percent water change.
make sure the red slime is hair-like not crust like, thats a different kind of benificail algea. you want to kill the hair like type now or it will take over the tank.
after 24 hours check water para. and reply back with how it worked out

Cyano Bacteria (red slime algae) has several causes... low water flow, insufficent, older lights, poor water quality, etc.
Identify the problem, or it will keep coming back.
Use ANY medication in your tank at EXTREME risk. You have a lot of beneficial bacteria in your tank. Do you really want to add some kind of anti-biotic into the mix hoping it just kills the "bad" stuff?

i was extremely worried about that too, i have alot of money in my tank but it was bad enough i needed to try and the company said it works. tried it at 1/2 of what it said 24 hours later it was complelty gone and now, 5 days later everything is fine. i was impressed then i also did a water change.

i was just reading your post about red slime algee.. you mentioned red slime algee remover.. where can i find it. i have never herd of red slime algee remover.. i have tried poly-ox with no luck at all.. the red slime is killing off my live rock and its going to destroy my reef.. please let me know where i can purchase the remover you talked about..

The stuff I used is called Red Slime Remover by UltraLife Reef products. This stuff does work on red slime, but I would also advise the water change afterwards as well, because while my red slime was gone, I got a yucky green hair algea in its place and I did not know then to do a water change after using this product. I got this stuff through the DRS blank and blank catalog and it says that this remover is not for sale in California, although I don't know why that is the case.
