i lifted a rock to find 2 or3 dead mushrooms under the rock covered by red slime.icut the dead mushrooms off the rock and syphened the red algae off the next day i icame home to find more red algae and more dead or dying mushrooms.it seems to be killing all the mushrooms it even touches fast . ohhh this is a huge mushroom covered rock or at least it was.so i cut and scrubbed the the rock lightly in a freshwater dip. hopefully i got it.since the out break my green tree leather had started to turn black in spots so ,i assume some sort of infection ,its in good current in high light. i took it out and gave it a fresh water dip, the black seemed to fall off i have just replaced it in the tank . it seems to have lost some color but i hope it will make it. could the two be related . im kind of freaking out. i have alot of nice corals in the tank and dont want to risk them all getting an infection ,half tempted to just take the leather and the mush rock out to avoid spread . am i going about this the right way? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. all of my levels are fine .and i havent had this prob before .thanks

had the same prob. I used Macryn (sp?) it worked fast for me , you will get allot of suggestions on how to get rid of this but that worked for me and it worked fast! also it did not hurt anything in my tank
good luck nad yes you HAVE to move fast or it will take over your tank!
