how new is the tank? it is usually due to your lighting period/lights themselves. how long have you had your lights? how long is your lighting period? the tank itself may be in the final stages of cycling. if you've been up and running for a long time, you can use boyds chemiclean. make sure you read the directions, and TURN OFF THE SKIMMER!!!!!!

I have a 72 gallon bowfront with 2x250W MH 4x65W Anctics and I have had the tank running for about ~5 months now. The fixture I added about two months ago. I run the lights at this order:
Anctics: 7am-9pm
MH: 10am-6pm
Moonlights: 9pm-7am
I will take pictures in three hours once I get home from work.

I had a problem with red slime.
Suggestions on how to fix problem
1. Cut down on lighting. I cut back to 7-8 hours which helped alot.
2. Do more frequent water changes.
3. Watch overfeeding of your fish.
4. Red slim is bacterial and a UV light kills parasites, but I changed bulb and it helped for some reason but I don't understand why.
5. Added snails and they love to eat the red slime.
My tank is now free of red slime which is probably a combination of all of the above reasons.

I must say real crap for the turnover. I am builsing a sump as we speak. I should be done in a week or two. but currently I have three powerheads, hang-on skimmer and a flumva 405. I am thinking about changing my 250MH bulbs very soon. and also put the 20k bulbs in instead of the 10k's since they're newer.
PS: I feed the fish once ever other day.

correct me if i'm wrong but 7-9 and 10-6 is a VERY long time. I only run mine for about 6 hours a day and that plenty for my sebea and other corals. I would recommend cutting back, and poor water flow leads to slime.
