Red slime on sand

My tank just get some red spots on LS. How can I get rid of red spots? I removed some then the next day it appears again.

Check for phosphates. Sounds like cyanobacteria.

My tank has the same thing and I have been told that it was all a part of the natural biological cycle.

Cyano can be caused by many things. My problem was solved when I replaced my old lights. If you're lights have been in use for more than 10 months or so (maybe even less) you might want to replace them.
I upgraded from PCs to MH, but just changing the buld should be sufficient. After the change and a manual cleanup of my cyano, it hasn't come back yet.
