IMHO i would figure out the source of the red slime before i introduce any type of chemical to the tank. Things like lighting duration, overfeeding, typw of water used are all factors that can cause red slime.

I agree getting rid of the cyano is only the beggining, finding out how it got there if it is a big prob is the most important. Having said that I had a small outbreak and after reconfiguring some things I did treat with EM tabs and everything was fine. Your prefrence. good luck
