Red slime

I have had my tank for about 2 years or more. I usually do a good job with it until hunting season. For some reason though even when I pay really close attetion to my tank red slime seems to be a huge problem. I have used a chemical called chemi clean more than once. Besides not being lazy during hunting season.. what can I do to fix this problem. Its not that big of a deal for my fish but everytime I try to get coral the red slime seems to take over. My tank is a 55 gallon tank not sure what my lighting is. I would just really like to be able to house coral. The red slime is a problem I am sick of dealing with. If anyone can help me I would appericate it very much. One other thing I noticed lately is that there is also a type of white slime stuff that is on the rocks. Its something i have never seen before. I might be able to put pictures on here but not sure if they would help. Any info on this would be awesome.
Thanks Hunt
