red smoke?!?!

i just scrapped and scrubbed one side of my tank that i was letting get covered with algae and after it was completely clean, under 5 minutes later i glance back and dead center of that pane of glass, this light red/orange smoke stuff appeared and was blowing in the currents but stayed by the glass, i waved my hand by it and it all whisped away like smoke and just vanished into the water kinda ghost like
at first i thought it was a reflection of something red but when i got close, it looked like it was just hovering above the glass
what was it?!?! it was like a red ghost in the fish tank

I will give it a whack. You know how sometines the algae puts off green "dust" when you're scrubbing it off? I know on the glass I allow algae to grow on for my LM blenny, I often get coraline algae growth. Maybe you scrubbed the coraline off and some of the "dust" settled on the side of the glass. When the filter current drifted by, it "blew off" the coraline dust. That's all I could come up with.

hmmm did ya have any red fish die on you in the tank that could be coming back to haunt you?

all green algae and a purple and the dust appeared outta nowhere after a few minutes of nothing being on the glass, and no fish have died
i did have a small condi die, but it was white, thought maybe something was spawning but nothing was over there
the algae dust makes the most sense to me out of anything, just surprised it was red/orange and not green or dark purple like was on the glass

No seriously,,Ghost Hunters would work better. I can see them now in wetsuits trying to get EVP's or using there Thremal Imaging Camera.
It might be the ghost of "The Little Mermaid"

i see "smoke" in my tank sometimes too but its white or gray. i've seen snail emit "smoke" i think its there poop, but ive also seen streams of it coming out of my LR a few times right where my Mandarin was picking at it. haunted rock?

lol it didnt spook me, just got me super curious where it came from, i was totally baffled, and it was a huge cloud of smoke, and only have one snail in the tank who was in a jar, so wasnt from a snail
