red spotted blenny color

I think Lenny, my red spotted blenny is a bit confused with his color. He has a dark stripe running down his body. It starts from his face and goes down about 1/3 of his body. Will this fade with time? I think he's pretty much full grown. He's about 4 in long. Sometimes he will get really dark. Almost like a chameleon. But he has neer gotten any lighter than what you see in the pics below.

He's definitely a red spotted blenny. I just wish his "mask" would lighten up. I bought this fish because just about every pic I've seen of them they are a striking white with orange/red spots. I really wanted something that would stand out. He doesn't. He blends right into my rock. I really like his personality and wouldn't get rid of him, I just wish his color was different.
