Red Thing/ID Help

Old rock, new critter. When touched it slowly retracts into a ball. It consists of two tubes. I assume it's a filter feeder, but it doesn't look or feel like a sponge to me.

Yup Tunicate,nice color. May or may not last in your tank depending on available food stuffs.

most tunicates are suspension feeders. you might need to supplement its diet with bacterial aggregate if you are interested in keeping it.

awhh thts a kewl colored tunicate!!

i have one from my lfs store for free they just give em away lol
but if you wanna keep it alive and healthy mine does well off of kent micro vert. :)

Thanks for the replies. Will it get any bigger? I would like to keep it around since it is so colorful.

Well, the Giant Pacific tunicate gets up to 8 inches (yours isn't this kind, but there are over 1200 species), so I think yours might get up to maybe 4 inches?
