I noticed a red tinge on the middle body of my new baby snowflake eel. I don't know what it is i've never seen this on any other fish that i've had. Could it be from the food i gave him, i gave him some frozen shrimp(thawed of course). Or is it some type of irritation or red algae from slithering on the live rock? Help me out here im concerned
Also i have him in with a small 3 inch Niger trigger. I haven't noticed the Niger picking on him but today after feeding the eel got a little too close to my Niger and the Niger snapped at him and made the eel back away pretty quick and retreat. My question is do Snow flake eels generally have issues dealing with slightly aggressive triggers and will it be ok to get a small porcupine puffer in with my baby eel. The snow flake is about 6-7inches but still very skinny

Does it look like a scratch or a red blotch that's under the skin? Could be a bacterial infection. I'm not sure, I'm no eel expert but this is what it would be with a fish.

I would post this in the fish disease and treatment. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/vb/f...splay.php?f=10 Try to get a pic for sure. Could be an infection or nothing at all. It's always good to have antibiotics like maracyn 1 and 2 on hand if you don't already have them. You never know when an infection might break out. I wouldn't add any new fish until you've figured out what's going on with the SFE though.
