It won't eat your corals and when it dies, it won't release the venom in your tank as long as you remove the dead fish. If you leave the dead fish in there for days, I don't know.
no they wont eat corals and no they wont release venom into the tank. I recommend you do a google search for my last name(remove the "f") and "lionfish" and you'll find a free online husbandry guide to keeping lionfish
P volitans are great hardy fish, just be aware that they get huge, and will eventually eat anything it can fit into its mouth.
Lastly, no boisterous tankmates, like triggerfish and pufferfish
and then,,, what size tank do you have? what kind of filtration? if you have a reef with those 2 fish,,, whom are rather messy eaters,, that could affect the corals even though they do not eat them...
a 200 gallon big skimmer calcium system and for fish i have hand full of damsels cortez sting ray, blemmy cleaner wass naso tang, lion, yellow tang and i think thats all
He won't poison the corals or release toxins, like a boxfish. As he grows, he'll rid you of the damsels and probably the cleaner wrasse---and they grow faster than any fish I can think of.
Just a suggestion. Given the obvious urgency; maybe you should ask this type of question BEFORE you buy the fish. Also, I peeked at your profile, a ray is not an invertebrate.

your jawfish won't last long. perfect snack once he gets hungry and maybe a tad bit bigger. Mine is 9" and he can open his mouth as wide as his boddy and inhale anything a bit smaller than him. he can pack away 6 large silver sides in no time flat. They are not aggressive and are reef safe, but they will eat ANYTHING smaller than themselves.
I dropped a big snail in the tank today and it went past his face and he inhaled it on the way by. Luckily he blew it back out about 10 seconds later. LOL

Too many variables to give a good opinion. Why not start your own thread and you'll get just what you need?
