Reducing PH and cloudy water

i have a new 55 gallon reef tank that is about three months old. No fish yet. I’ve added clean up crew and a few soft corals so far. Salinity is at 1.023, nitrates at 20, nitrites at 0, and ammonia at 0. How’re pH is at 8.7. I’d like to lower to a more coral acceptable range before adding fish. What is the best way to do this?

Also, water has gotten unusually milky in last few days. I’m thinking algae bloom from what I’m reading. I’ve been seeding daily for three days and keeping the light off. Any additional suggestions to help clear the water up?

No need to try and lower PH, anything about 8.3 is good for accelerated coral growth. Most people would strive for PH that high.

The cloudy water could be bacteria or algae bloom in a new tank.

Can you describe your filtration methods?
