Reef Crystals

Anyone tried the new Reef crystals by Instant Ocean?? It has extra trace elements and extra calcium for reef systems. I was wondering if it makes any noticable difference. Don

I have been useing it for a year +/- good stuff I have a jam packed 55 with hard and soft, corals, fish and inverts. And they are all kicking. The only thing that I have noticed is that when I mix it for three or more days, a white sedament forms on the sides and bottom of my mixing vessel. I never noticed that with the standard instant ocean. but I just take a algea spounge and wipe the stuff off about an hour befor I make my change.

I have used reef crystals and personally dont think it is worth the extra money. Regular I/O is enough.

I guess the only way to tell any real difference is buy test kits for all the elements.

I use Reef Crystals and feel that there is a difference. Granted, I don't know that there are considerable effects, but while I do a water change I know that there are certain elements that are being taken from the tank. With Reef Crystals I am equalizing the change, which doesn't alter the tanks condition. Anyway, my corals seem to like it and there is no price difference at my LFS... It really just depends on your preference.
