I am looking at buying a monitor/controller for my tank and I was wondering which one of these controllers is better. I was lookng at either a Reef Keeper II Controller made by Digital Aquatics, or a Neptune AquaController Jr with Backlit Display + Temperature Probe + Direct Connect 8. They both are about the same price. All opinions are welcom.

I was just about to post about the Reef Keeper II cause I was thinking about getting one. I can't wait to hear what people have to say about it.

Thanks A-Thrice. I'm steering towards the controller but I'm not sure what sort of total cost I'm looking at said and done. You start adding controllers and such and I'm not sure where I'll be. I want to monitor everything I can and also control lights, temp, and maybe later some wake stuff.
It seems like everyday I buy more and more stuff for the tank and it's never done. I can't wait to get all set up so I can enjoy it without so much work(money). I say that but I don't mind paying to do it right the 1st time.

I just got an aquacontroller Jr and it is awesome. I purchased it directly from neptune. I was originally going to get a reefkeeper II, but changed my mind when I found out the the AC Jr performs data logging. A serial port on the AC Jr allows a direct connection to my computer. Total cost with lab grade pH probe, DC8, and serial connector was about $350. The AC Jr is also compatible with X-10 modules. I am very pleased.

Rumor is that a new RK3 is in the works, might be a good idea to wait a bit longer if you don't need one just yet.

I'm waiting to see what they have to offer, or better yet check out the Prolux it's German engineered and doesn't get any sweeter......Has it's own wireless LAN and makes both the Reefkeeper and AquaController look like childs play........Pricey, but worth the look

Hello,
We just gout our aqua III last week, and , wow do we love it. love the fact that there is no need for any other controllers/timers. We even added a water sensor for leaks and it e-mails & shuts down the aquarium if a leak is detected. next we are planning on setting it up to be accessed from the net so status can be viewed while we are at work. Have NO experience with reekeeper, with that being said, We would highly recommend a Neptune system.
Good luck !
