Reef lighting

I just set up a 125 reef and have 6 X 96 PC retro in the canopy which gives me 4.6 WPG which I don't think is enough if I want to add SPS corals. I can get 3 X 175 MH retro kit to also fit in the canopy, the question is will this be too much light fot the soft corals I currently have? Any help will be greatly appreciated. :help:

Is it possible for you to get more wattage with the halides, like 3x250 watt double-ended bulbs? It would be much better for a big and deep tank. The soft corals will still be ok under that lighting, but you may need to keep them lower in the tank.
