If anyone has the nightmare of the splashing noise coming from these skimmers then I did a fix and it cost me $3. They try and sell you a "vent" for $40. No need for that. I simply bought a 1 1/4" 90* street elbow and used the metric to british adapter that came with my skimmer. No hole needed to be drilled in elbow either. All you have to do is install the elbow and make sure the output in submerged, run the skimmer with the gate valve wide open for 15 minutes to allow all the air to come out and then adjust slowly until the water level is just below the collection cup. Its running smoothly and QUIETLY!! No more splashing! No more salt creep everywhere!
