Sargassum, crosshatch, blue throat triggers. They won't bother inverts and corals.

Damsels are reef safe...very, very pretty, and mean as hell.

+1. Im a crosshatch fan myself. Blue throats are cheap and boring

Meanest fish I ever knew was a Damsel...they are cheap, very pretty and reef safe.

groupers, eels, lionfish, some wrasses, depends what you mean by reef safe? None of these will mess with corals, but you won't be able to have crabs or snails.
